What I’m looking forward to at PAX East.
MY son and I have decided, the first thing we are going to see in the expo hall is Borderlands 2.
Last year we had a good routine. We would catch a cab to the convention center around 7:30. The doors to the convention center open at 8am. Even getting there early we had to wait outside for about 30 minutes or so. As soon as the convention center opens, we headed to the Queue room.
The Queue room is a massive line to get into the expo hall. The expo hall opens at 10am. By that time, the queue room contains thousands of people. By getting to the queue room and in line immediately, we are among the first hundred or so people into the expo hall. We IMMEDIATELY head the to thing we want to see. Last year it was Portal 2 and Star Wars. This year it be Borderlands 2, Steel Battalion, and Assassin’s Creed.
Another difference is last year we spent the entire time on the expo floor. I don’t want to do that this year. I want to hit the parties. I want to attend the amazing panels.
Dan Amrich recently published a book, Critical Path. He is going to be on a panel about Getting into the games industry. Major Nelson, Felicia Day, and Stepto will be at the Major Nelson Show panel. Joystick, Gamer with Jobs, Kotaku, and others have there own panels.
